1. Full Name Kannur Lokesh Rahul
Kannur Lokesh Rahul was born on 14 April 1992 in Mangalore city, Karnataka. His parents name is KL Lokesh and kalleshwari Lokesh. Both his parents are professors. Cricket is highly liked in his home as well. There is a big story behind Rahul's name which is quite intersting. Rahul's father was a big fan of Sunil Gavaaskar of his time. Sunil Gavaaskar was counted among the very best players of that time. So his father decided that he would name his son after Sunil Gavaskar. So he named his son Rahul. Later it was found out that Sunil Gaavaskar's son's name is Rohan and not Sunil, due to which misunderstanding will arise. So this is how Rahul was named.
2. Rahul's mother's dream
The dream of KL Rahul's mother was that after studying a lot, he became a very big engineer and brightened the name of the family. His mother had always thought that after doing an Rahul engineer, he would keep his engineer degree at his homes. It was a dream of Rahul's mother, but luck was something else. Hence, Rahul later became a very big cricketer and played for India. Although Rahul's house no longer has an engineer degree, but the house is full of cricket trophies.
3. Interest was in sports since childhood

4. KL Rahul's debut
Rahul made his debut in 2010 and at the age of 18. He made this debut playing for Karnataka. Rahul scored an innings of 61 runs in his debut debut match against Punjab. On seeing his performance, the audience praised him. With this, Rahul also scored 300 runs in an innings in the first class. After this, he played a brilliant innings of 337 off 448 balls while playing Ranji Trophy against Uttar Pradesh in 2014. In that Ranji Trophy season, Rahul won the team Ranji Trophy 2014 with his best performance. He alone scored more than 1000 runs in that tournament which included three centuries and three ninety.
5. International match debut
Now Rahul showed his passion for domestic cricket. It was just late that he was seen playing at international level. He got a chance in 2014 when he made his debut in a Test match which was against Australia. In this match, he was sent in place of Rohit Sharma, where he performed brilliantly. He was subsequently selected for the 2016 Zimbabwe Round. And later that year, he made his T20 debut. So this is how Rahul made his international debut.
6. Debut in Indian Premier League (IPL)
In 2014, Rahul made his debut in international cricket, where he performed well and caught the attention of the people. Later on, the IPL team looked at their caudal performance. In 2013, he was included in his team by Royal Challengers Bangalore. After this, he could not show anything more amazing in the IPL. But he did well in 2016. Then due to shoulder injury, he could not play IPL for two years.
His comeback was in 2018 when Punjab bought him for 11 crores, which is quite a huge amount and now he plays from Punjab's side only. He has made many records in IPL. But his biggest record is that he has scored 50 runs in just 14 balls and is the only batsman in the IPL to do so. Apart from this, Rahul played a tremendous innings of 132 runs in 2020 against Bangalore and has become the highest run-scorer batsman as a captain.
